Steam Game Server Browser
This guide is from a LAN that has ended, so information might be irrelevant and/or incorrect
To discover and join servers running on the LAN, use Steam's game server browser:
- Open Steam
- From the top Steam menu bar, click View
- Click Game Servers
- Select the LAN tab
- Click Refresh
- Click the desired server
- Click Connect
Troubleshooting
If the list is empty:
- Disconnect from any VPNs
- Disable any network interfaces you aren't using
- Start > Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings
- Next to the interfaces you are not using, select Disable
- Temporarily disable the HyperV virtual switch:
- Press Windows Key + X
- Click PowerShell (Admin).
- Paste in the command:
Disable-NetAdapter -Name 'vEthernet (Default Switch)' -Confirm:$false
- Ask the crew if there are any servers currently running...
